[pu'lɛ̃ːk], Francis, französischer Komponist, * Paris 7. 1. 1899, ✝ ebenda 30. 1. 1963; studierte bei C. Koechlin, gehörte der Groupe des Six an. Seine Kompositionen standen ursprünglich dem Impressionismus nahe und waren später vom Neoklassizismus beeinflusst. Charakteristisch für sein Werk ist die Prägnanz der melodischen Linie, besonders in seinem Vokalschaffen.
 
Werke: Opern: Les mamelles de Tirésias (1947, Text von G. Apollinaire); Les dialogues des Carmélites (1957, Text von G. Bernanos).
 
Ballette: Les biches (1923); Les animaux modèles (1942).
 
Orchesterwerke: Deux marches et un intermède (1937, für Kammerorchester); Sinfonietta (1947).
 
Konzerte: Concert champètre (1928, für Cembalo oder Klavier und Orchester); Konzert für zwei Klaviere und Orchester d-Moll (1932).
 
Klaviermusik: Préludes (1916); 6 Impromptus (1920); Valse-improvisation sur le nom de Bach (1932).
 
Vokalwerke: Lieder und Liederzyklen, A-cappella-Chöre, Messe G-Dur (1937); Stabat mater (1950).
